Pocket PC for Sale - $150

I am selling an h4355 PocketPC. It has a 400 Mhz processor and 64 Mb of built-in RAM. It has BlueTooth and 802.11b WiFi.

Extras:
  • Docking station
  • USB charging & data transfer cable
Known Issues:
  • The previous owner had replaced the screen, so the casing kept coming loose on me. So I ended up super-gluing the case together in some spots.
  • Sometimes when you hold down the "down" button, it keeps moving the cursor down even when you have let go. (Not sure if this is supposed to be a feature or something. If so, it doesn't seem like a good feature to me. I don't like that.)
  • The top right corner of the screen sometimes makes a subtle sound. Almost like there is something sticky under the corner or something.

Please note that the docking station doesn't have a charging cable. You have to use the USB charging cable separately to charge it up from your computer.

Price: $150

Here is a link to a search on eBay so you can see how pricing compares.

How to Garden with Kids

My sister-in-law emailed this to me and I thought it was great! Enjoy!

How to Garden With Kids
When our fantasy collides with real life
By Chris Jordan

1) Go to nursery and pick out heirloom tomato plants. Because heirlooms must be better, right? Surely they have survived this long because of their juicy goodness.
2) Bring plants home and unload them onto front porch.
3) Leave them sitting there until the following weekend, because buying them at the nursery was enough gardening for you.
4) The next weekend, go buy some gardening gloves.
5) Leave plants on front porch.
6) The following weekend, put on gloves and go out to plant the tomatoes. Discover a couple of shriveled-up green stems.
7) Go back to nursery and buy more heirloom tomatoes. Come home and decide to plant them right away.
8) Find a nice sunny spot for the plants and put them in the ground.
9) Feel very proud and gardener-like. Decide this might be the hobby for you after all.
10) Vow to water them every day, in keeping with your new gardener identity.
11) Two weeks later, realize that you have forgotten all about the plants.
12) Pull out hose and turn it on as quietly as possible.
13) Supersonic, batlike hearing enables kids to hear the hose, and they come running.
14) Children beg to use the hose and promise to water the plants nicely.
15) Acquiesce against better judgment.
16) Once plants are floating in a pool of muddy water, tell children to stop watering them.
17) Wrestle hose from child and get a faceful of water. Contemplate "accidentally" squirting child in the face.
18) Remember that the neighbors are probably watching. Turn off hose and discover children splashing in the mud.
19) Briefly consider bringing them inside to clean them off. Remember that it is only noon. And that you've already cleaned the bathtub this week.
20) Spray children off with hose in spite of their protests.
21) Remembering neighbors, say loudly, "Oh, I thought you WANTED ME TO SQUIRT YOU! I'm so sorry, OH PRECIOUS LIGHTS OF MY LIFE!"
22) Put hose away again. Discover wet children rolling in dirt.
23) Question will to live.
24) Successfully ignore them for 3.2 seconds. When they decide they've had enough of being outside, hose the children off.
25) Forget about the neighbors and yell, "If you'd STOP COVERING YOURSELVES IN MUD!..." 26) Leave hose lying across the driveway for husband to run over when he comes home from work.
27) Repeat this scenario semiweekly until the plants finally die.
28) Buy some super-delicious tomatoes already grown by someone else who has no children, or more patience, or both.
29) Vow to remember that you are not a gardener.
30) Until next year, when the spring air renders you amnesiac.
31) And you find yourself buying several flats of some vegetable plants, wondering how hard it could possibly be to take care of them...

Snow Day Mystery

Thursday when the wind was blowing and the snow was drifting, I decided to get up early to work on a paper that was due that day. So it was really me deciding to get up early, I was kind of forced to get out of bed at 5:30 to finish it. Ne ways... I got up and I could hear the wind howling so I, being in the need of a distraction, went and looked out the window. The snow was drifted into our sidewalk and our side of the street. I was totally bumped! Our wreath was knocking around something horrible so I opened the door and took it off the hook. I then closed the door and relocked it. I then forced myself to go downstairs to work on my paper. After about 10 minutes, I heard the front door close! Talk about spooked! I hadn't heard the door open or anyone walk in or walk down the stairs from our room to close it. So I did want anyone would do... called for Anthony! I know realize that if anyone had been in the house that this would have been a very stupid thing to do. Ne ways....He(Anth)groggily answered. I asked him," Was that you?" He replied no but that he thought it was me. I was completely scared now! I met Anth in the living room where he preceded to look out the window. There we could see tracks leaving our house, not coming up, and one lone car tread in the snow. Now the car tread looked like a car just appeared. There were no tracks leading up to it or pulling away. It looked like a car had been sitting there, but I know that one hadn't because I didn't see one earlier in my distraction. We were completely baffled! We figured that I must not have closed the door tight enough when I opened to take down the wreath and then the door must have swung open and then someone out of the kindness of their hearts, stopped, or appeared, and closed our door. We still don't know who it was or what exactly happened. Thank you to whoever it was!

****Did I mention that I went and did some Family History work the day before in the temple? Anth teases that it was my ancestors looking out for us. Maybe it was!****

Bunny Money Egg Hunt!

So it become a tradition to every year have a egg hunt in which my Dad and DeRay (my second dad) hid plastic eggs that contain money all over the yard. Its called the Bunny Money hunt! It is great. My dads hid them so well that it takes up almost an hour to find them all. There is usually always one golden egg that has a high bill in it(like a twenty or something) and then small bills and finally pocket change mixed with candy. Its in the rules that we can't look in our eggs until we have found them all. Everyone is allowed a certain amount. Its a lot of fun and without doubt, every year, there is at least one egg that stays hiding! The hunt was started to after Megan (DeRay's daughter and my best friend growing up) and I got married. Our parents decided that they needed to help us out and this was an easy way. It kind of back fired when all our younger brothers got the big finds. Oh, well! Its so much fun and nobody really cares about the amount of money that they make! The boys also got to do a egg hunt. When Peter would find an egg, he would insist upon opening it up and seeing what was inside. In one, he found a dollar and he was so excited! He runs up screaming to us..."I found a thousand dollar. I found a thousand dollar," and promptly put it in his pocket! It was so cute and funny! This is Anthony finding an egg that had been hidden in the dead flowers that are up by the top of my parents driveway! The Dads got very sneaky this year and hidden alot of the eggs in things like dead plants, the snow, and the trees.
This is the Dads (my Dad John in the brown and my second dad, DeRay in the stripes) keeping track of where we hid the eggs. They mapped out where they hid them and then had us report when we found one so they could mark it off. They love this almost as much as we do!
This is James and Glen looking for some eggs. The Dads were giving out clues to help us find the last few eggs. They said to look by the burn pile but it was really about 10 feet from them in the grass. Notice that James is moving a tree and Glen is kicking through the burn heap to find the eggs. They were getting a little desperate!
This is Glen after he had found some of his eggs. Poor guy, he ended up being the one that was short one egg because it got lost.
Last of all, this is Chad after he found an egg in the bird feeder! His face says it all!

Happy Easter!

Here are some pictures from our Easter adventures. We got the boys some new clothes and I couldn't believe how big and old they looked! I wanted to cry when I saw Peter! I thought to myself this can not be my little boy. He is so big! If you can't tell I'm having issues with my boys growing up on me. We gave the boys a little bit of candy forgetting that they were going to get tons for the egg hunt later! Let's just say that I'm pretty sure that they didn't get all the main food groups today! Overall, it was a fun day and we really enjoy being with family and relaxing from the stress of school and work!

Peter's Birthday

Peter's birthday was on Friday! My little baby is all grown up and tried three on me. It really boggles my mind to think of him being that old. We had a great day and celebrated by going to McDonalds for dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Tietjen and then coming home and watching Bob the Builder! Peter's absolute favorite! My parents came up and saw him on Thursday because my dad had to work this weekend. Peter loved their presents and the time he gets to spend with both sets of his grandparents. Sunday, today, we went to Firth for Easter as well for another birthday party for Peter. This kid is all birthday out now. My mom made him a bunny cake and we sang and had some ice cream. It was a lot of fun!

Peter is such a special kid. He is very sensitive to others and hates to see people fighting or being mean. He loves his little brother Andrew is also taking care of him and usually sets a pretty good example for him.
