Santa Claus is coming to...Broulims?

We heard that Santa was going to do some shopping at Broulims, so we loaded up the boys and took them over to see him! The first time Peter saw Santa, he freaked out and was so scared! So this time, we made it a big deal and told him what we were doing, and he at least sat on his lap and let me take a picture!

Andrew, on the other hand, waited impatiently for his turn and then sat down and was content! He even said Cheese! The difference in these two amazes me daily!

Time to Decorate!

Now it's time to decorate the tree! The boys had some much fun putting all the ornaments on the tree! They were so excited about it! Peter has to show everyone his tree when they come into our house! The boys do a really good job staying away from it too! It only got pushed over once and that was an accident committed by a guest that will remain nameless!

The Hunt

Last year after dragging Peter through knee deep snow, crying and screaming, we decided that a fake tree might not be such a bad idea! I still liked the tradition of hunting for the tree, so we compromised! Root of any good marriage, right? We bought a fake tree last year after Christmas from someone that was moving and a killer of a deal! This year we put it together, (a feat in itself), and then got the boys in thier snow gear (another feat!). Anthony then went and hid the tree out in the yard and we commenced on our hunt! The boys had a lot of fun walking around looking for it. This is us in front of our tree. By then Andrew and Peter were crying because they were cold and as we hauled the tree in, we snapped off one of the legs on the base! So it was just like the real thing! Ne ways... we had a great time and plan to make this one of our family traditions!

Yummy! Let's eat!

Andrew and Peter loved the appretizer I gave them: a celery stick with some zingy Ranch dip! They just licked it right up while the rest of us were more cautious. Peter was so excited to eat turkey! It was all he talked about for days. His favorite was probably the olives and jello that I gave him! Isn't that every kids fave? Thanksgiving at Grandma Monson's house was a lot of fun and we had so much food left over that we are still eating three days later! Anyone want some turkey or pie?

I want a ....

It won't be Thanksgiving without looking at the ads and deciding if the item is worth the fighting off thousands of people for the same item! Anthony and I lucked out this year and were able to have other people pick up our items for us. We were pretty lucky!

Thanksgiving Football Game

This Thanksgiving we started a new tradition of playing a "friendly" game of football before we eat. It was a lot of fun! Everyone was allowed to play and Peter had a blast running around and "tackling" his dad and Grandpa. He even got to score a touchdown, mostly because no one was allowed to touch him so we would give him the ball to let him run it in! Needless to say, Peter's team won the game! It was a fun tradition and one that we hope will continue. For those, that aren't family, the top left picture is my mom Cherisse, my brother James, my sister Rachal, and of course Peter tackling the football. The top right is the huddle with Anthony being on the left with the gray stocking cap, James on the right, and a close family friend (my second dad) DeRay in the back. The botttom is DeRay running with a pass.

YUCK! What is this thing?

So, we had stir fry for dinner the other day and this was Andrew's expression when he bit into one of the carrots. He didn't find it very appealing and commenced to spit it out and to dump his tray on the ground! His way of saying, "I can't believe that you expect me to eat that!"

Goodby AOL CDs

We are de-junking so I decided to get rid of my AOL CD collection. I let Peter and Andrew play with them for a while before throwing the CDs away.

I can fly!

It's true! Our boys really did come from heaven and here's the pictures to prove it! This last week has been busy as Anth and I have been trying to wrap up our classes for our Thanksgiving break that begins next Monday! We get a whole week off! YEAH! But its really not a week off because I have to do a paper and Anthony has to work and do his homework as well! Oh well! We only have 18 more weeks left of school till we graduate! (That is only counting the days that we actually got to school!) I'm really pumped to be graduating! I can't even inagine what life will be like when homework isn't looming over us. We like to think that every day will be just like summer vacation! No homework and all we have to do is be a family and for Anthony to go to work. It will awesome but scary at the same time!

Clutter Cops to the Rescue

We will, we will, declutter you!

Okay, okay! I know that was cheesy but well ...that's all that I could come up with in the minute! Anthony and I were clutter cops for our date night on Friday. Anthony's brother, Rob, is moving into a new house and needed help cleaning and boxing up their stuff. We decided that we would do a service project and go and help out.. I made badges that we could wear and after dropping off our boys with Aunt Val, we went over to the victim's home. We had a lot of fun and Rob and his wife Susan had surprised us with a romantic spaghetti dinner. It was a lot of fun and gave us an appreciation for the little amount of stuff we actually own!

Don't always listen to your mom!

I told Peter that he was bouncing off the walls and the next thing I knew he was! Moral of the story: be careful what you tell your kids to do.... they just might do it!

Look at US!!!

So, here we are! Halloween night 2007! Peter is Bob the Builder (Its as close as I could get it and he loved it!), Andrew is a pumpkin, Anthony is a melodrama villian, and me...well, I'm suppose to be a 70's Prom Queen but most people just thought that I was Prom Queen. But that's fine! We had a lot of fun! We had a trick or treat at the office where Anthony works (where this picture is taken) and then a ward party out at our Bishop's farm, and then a Tietjen family party. Peter and Andrew loved getting the candy! Andrew's eyes would light up every time someone handed him a piece of candy. I needed to be better about taking pictures of stuff like that. I just get too distracted by everything else that is going on! It's been a great night but I'm glad that Halloween is only once a year!

Our Two Little Princes

Today's project was making hats, mostly because I needed a crown for my Halloween costume tomorrow. Peter had a lot of fun coloring his hat and putting the stencils on and having me trace them for him. I made one for Andrew because he was suppose to be taking a nap in his crib (he was in his crib but not sleeping.) It was a lot of fun and will hopefully entertain them a little today.

Three Peas in a Pod

Now that we have hit mid-semester, Anthony and I feel busy then ever. Our homework load has caused late nights and early mornings. Thus, making us a little tired. Anthony came home from work and decided to lay down for a little while. Peter brought him a pillow, a blanket, and his(that is Peter's) stuffed puppy. Peter then wanted to lay down too and of course Andrew then wanted into the action as well! It was just too cute not to take a picture!

Pumpkin Time!

This is us craving this year's crop of pumpkins! This is Anth cleaning out our pumpkin! He did an awesome cleaning it and also craving a face into it! I gave him that opportunity since I really don't like putting my hand in pumpkin goo!

We let Peter help clean it out. He thought that was pretty cool to put his hand in the pumpkin. He loves to see pumpkins! Everytime we go anywhere, he always says, "Look, Mommy! Look at the pumpkins!" and demands that we go look at them!
Andrew just loved pushing the pieces into his pumpkin! This was a great investment! I didn't have to worry about knives or markers and it was simple enough Andrew could do it. I let them each choose what faces they wanted to put in their pumpkins. Andrew is so good natured and he just love doing anything that Peter or one of us is doing.

The Final Product!

Our pumpkins are all complete. Peter's are on the left and with ours in the middle and Andrew's on the right. Craving pumpkins is one of the best parts of Halloween!

I'm a big boy now!

Peter is finally potty-trained and loves wearing underwear. One day I came home from class and he had put on every pair of clean underwear that he had left. It was so funny to watch him try and walk around. I think that there were 7 pairs here. His favorite pairs are the ones with Cars(Disney) and Scooby Doo!

Playing in the snow a Alisha's family's over General Conference weekend.

For Conference weekend we decided that we would go down to Grandma Monson's house to watch Conference on the big screen! Oooo! Our trip ended up being a little delayed because of the snow storm that hit that morning. We didn't make it out of Rexburg on our first attempt and Peter was so upset. We turned around and came home and had hot chocolate and marshmallows. During the break we ventured down to Firth , only to have the power go out. But my parents, being well-prepared, plugged in their generator so that we could watch Conference. Sunday during the break between Conference, we decided to go out and build a snow man, uh... I mean snowwomen. That lead to a snowman and then to a snowbaby! It was so much fun! Peter has been talking about it ever since! Andrew , on the other hand, has never seen snow before and his first encounter wasn't so hot. Uncle James, my brother, was holding him and James got hit by a snowball and some of it went onto Andrew's face. Whenever we would try to put him down, he would scream his guts out. As you can see in the picture! I'm sure that he will get over his fear as winter continues to come upon us.

Andrew, Joe (the scarecrow), and Peter

Since I have classes every day but Tuesday, I try to do something special with Peter and Andrew on Tuesdays. This day we made Joe the Scarecrow! I had told Peter that we were going to make him for a few days and so he was excited! We crumbled up about four copies of the Scroll and stuffed them into some of Peter's clothes. Peter helped design the face, especially the colors. Because Joe is so incredibly life-like, some people have actually mistaken him for one of our kids. I had thrown, uhh... I mean laid, Joe behind the crouch so that we could take naps! Uncle James came over and saw Joe crumpled up behind the couch and thought that it was Andrew and was so surprised that he would sleep in that position and place.

We made hand puppets for family home evening a few weeks ago.

Andrew's Dinner

Andrew is enjoying his food to the fullest. He would only eat the taco soup if it was smothered in sour cream. Peter also likes sour cream.

Peter's City

First Peter said something about a tower, but then he said it was a city. It is chips on a piece of bread. I guess one time he made a "fire" with his green beans and ketchup.
